I lost 4.6 lbs in 5 days.
I KNOW, RIGHT?! I didn’t believe it, I weighed myself 3 times just to be sure. Now, I know this is largely because I’m back home from spending the holidays with my family (and gorging on all things sugar), and back to my normal routine. I started the new year by re-commiting myself to eating clean, which means no processed food or white “poison” (white flour, sugar, etc.). I’ve also been drinking my detox water to help flush out my system of all the junk I ate over the holidays.
So yeah, 4.6 lbs in 5 days… With those kind of results, I can’t keep the secret to myself… so I’m going to share it with you.
Are you ready?
This super easy and quick to make detox water is only made up of 3 ingredients… OK, and the water. It will help get rid of any extra water weight, while helping your liver to flush out toxins from your system. Plus, the cranberry juice is great for your kidneys!

Ingredients
- 2 to 4 oz Cranberry Juice (no added sugar, non-cocktail, cranberries should be the ONLY ingredient!)
- 4 drops Citrus Fresh (Vitality) Essential Oil Blend (I only recommend this brand for internal use!)
- 1/4 tsp Stevia
- Filtered Water
If you don’t have Stevia you could substitute with a pinch of salt (you won’t taste it). The Stevia (or salt) is only used to help disperse the essential oil because oil and water don’t mix. I like to use Stevia because it adds just a touch of sweetness.
You can substitute 2 to 3 tsp of lemon juice for the Citrus Fresh if you don’t have it (and omit the Stevia). However, I truly believe Citrus Fresh (Vitality) is the key ingredient, as it’s a blend that contains: orange (Citrus aurantium), tangerine (Citrus nobilis), mandarin (Citrus reticulata), grapefruit (Citrus paradisi), lemon (Citrus limon), and spearmint (Mentha spicata). The citrus oils help detox your body and the spearmint helps boost the metabolism! Note: I only recommend Young Living Essential Oils and their Vitality line of dietary essential oils for internal use. Puh-lease carefully read the labels of your essential oils and follow the instructions!
I’ve recently learned that dandelion root is great for supporting the liver and promoting detox. I’m now on the lookout for it so I can add it to this recipe. Once I try it, I’ll edit this recipe to include it if I like how it turned out!
Directions
In a 32 oz mason jar (you could use a glass pitcher or water bottle) add the Stevia first. Add 4 drops of Citrus Fresh (Vitality) while aiming for the Stevia and let it absorb for a moment. Add the cranberry juice (I use this brand), and then swirl it around to dissolve the Stevia and blend the essential oils and juice. Next, just fill the jar (or pitcher) with filtered water and give it a quick stir, and you’re all set! Enjoy!
NOTE: I’m often asked how much, how often, and if I eat while drinking this… YES, I eat! This is only water my friends. I’d be a starving lunatic if I didn’t eat! I typically drink 32 oz per day, for 5-10 days while eating a “clean” diet of whole foods – no processed foods, no white flour or sugar.

Do you only drink 32 oz a day or mix it several times a day?
Hi Melissa! I drink 32 oz per day. I typically do this for a week after the holidays end, or if I’ve been on vacation and have been eating junk. I’ll also drink this the morning after a night out if I had a few drinks, just to help flush it out. 🙂
hey ! So I’m gonna try this , but do you eat other things as well ? Can you eat normally , or do you only drink this , and how long do you drink it for ? How much of it do you drink a day as well ? Is it only flushing or is it actually helping lose weight ? Thank you ! 🙂
Hi Whitney! YES, I eat a “clean” diet along with drinking this. Eating normal amounts of food, but avoid processed foods, and sugar. I drink 32oz per day for 7 days. It naturally detoxes your body… So yes, it’s flushing, but I kept the weight off that was lost! Hope this helps!
Your recipe says “2-4 oz cranberry juice”. Is this supposed to be 2-4 oz (8 oz) or 24 oz?
Hi Jodi! I mean 2 to 4 oz of cranberry juice (I updated it to be more clear). I eyeball it so it’s somewhere around there, and I use cold-pressed cranberry juice. Hope that helps!
Im really looking forward to trying this. Thx for sharing! Where do you buy cold-pressed cranberry juice? I’ve been looking around and the best I could do was the “Just Cranberry” juice you picture above. I can’t find anything unpasteurized.
I get mine from Whole Foods, it’s Lakewood Organic Pure Cranberry, Cold-Pressed Not From Concentrate, Fresh Pressed (all that is written on the front label). It is pasteurized. Hope that helps!
Where do you purchase the Citrus oil?
